Moshi

Moshi is a relaxed town at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro and the primary base for all Kilimanjaro treks. Set against the dramatic backdrop of Africa's highest peak, the town has a pleasant highland climate and a well-developed infrastructure for climbers — with gear shops, acclimatisation walks, and dozens of experienced guiding outfits. Beyond Kilimanjaro, Moshi is a charming base in its own right: the Chagga people's rich culture, the Materuni waterfalls, and the nearby coffee farms offer excellent day trips for those resting before or after a summit attempt.
