The yacht departs from Nungwi beach in the early morning, heading eastward along the island's northern coastline. Guests settle on deck as breakfast is served - fresh fruit, cereals, hot tea and coffee-while the crew keeps a watchful eye on the horizon for dolphins, which frequently ride alongside the bow wave on this route. Fishing lines can be set along the way for those who want to try their luck with the deep waters. The crossing takes approximately two hours, and as Mnemba's shallow turquoise lagoon comes into view, the contrast with the deep blue open ocean is immediately striking.
